Perfect Puppy Class — Beginner
Suitable for puppies younger than 5 months old.
This course is 5 weeks in total, with the first week being an introduction via zoom.
The sessions will be in small, friendly groups and will be an hour in an outdoor field - even in the rain - so wrap up!
The ‘Perfect Puppy’ course includes general obedience, basic cues and daily life exercises that will set your pup off on the right path as they head towards adolescence.
We’ll help you throughout this course to manage any common (or not so common) puppy problems that come up in those first few months.
Socialisation is not about saying ‘hi’ to everyone and everything, during the course you’ll learn how to properly ‘socialise’ your pup!
You’ll also learn:
Basic behaviours & cues
Manners
Life skills
Impulse control
Fun, bond building games
& lots more using positive reinforcement based techniques
Intro to Gundog Training - Specific
The Intro to Gundog Training course is 4 weeks long and, like the other courses, the sessions will be small groups and will last an hour in an outdoor field - even in the rain!
The course starts with the very basics of teaching the Gundog whistle cues before building a solid heelwork position, building trust and a bond while ‘working’ while also introducing the hunting technique and the retrieve pattern.
During this course we will teach:
Gundog whistle cues (stop, hunt, recall)
Heelwork
Retrieving
Hunting pattern
Introduction to steadiness
Obedience
& lots of fun exercises to harness all of the above in the best way!
As well as building your Gundog specific skills, this course will also improve the engagement and focus that you get from your dog by using lots of fun games to get them choosing YOU!
This course is suitable for dogs from 6 months upwards who have never had a go at Gundog training before or who are wanting to start from scratch.
All Gundog breeds are welcome, including mixes!
Gundog Progression Course - Continue
This is a 4 week course for those that have completed the Intro to Gundog Training Course and would like to continue having fun with their dogs.
Like the other courses, classes are an hour long each week and are held outside in a secure field - even in the rain!
This course progresses follows on from the Intro course and will allow you to progress your foundation Gundog exercises further.
You’ll build more steadiness, teach complex retrieve patterns and progress your dogs perseverance and stamina while hunting.
A placeboard will be needed for this course and I will recommend some suppliers and also advise how you might make your own, diy style placeboard.

Once you have booked onto one of our courses no refunds will be given if you can no longer make it to the sessions due to ill health, other commitments or if your dog comes into season.
